More than 60 people packed into Rendezvous Pointe on Aug. 19 to hear the County Planning and Zoning Board's (P&Z) decision on the QEP rezoning application for the Pine's End Ranch. Of the over 30 people who spoke during the two-and-a-half-hour public comment period, roughly two-thirds spoke in opposition to turning the agricultural land into commercial and light industrial space. ...more

In spite of clearing all of its regulatory hurdles, El Paso Corporation's 680-mile Ruby Pipeline continues to face obstacles. Conservation groups protested its effect on sagebrush habitat, so the company donated funds to support habitat mitigation projects along the route.
